Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of image processing on nostalgia arousal across various age groups, without relying on personal memory: participants ranging from their teens to their fifties evaluated the nostalgia effects of effects and sepia and black and white on images. The results showed no significant differences in nostalgia arousal between the younger and older age groups, nor did the specific processing of sepia and black and white enhance feelings of nostalgia. This suggests that digital image effects alone may not be sufficient to effectively evoke nostalgia.
