Abstract

This study introduces a wide-area urban model visualization system designed for assessing large-scale flood damage. Utilizing the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport, and Tourism's PLATEAU open data for 3D city models, and integrating development environments such as Unity and Cesium, the system overlays information about flood-affected areas onto a city-wide urban model. It features a detailed model of the Tama River estuary, a region with dense populations stretching from Tokyo to Kanagawa Prefecture. This system has achieved lightweight operation and intuitive visualization functions. By vividly representing the potential risks of natural disasters, the system facilitates informed decision-making, significantly contributing to the fields of urban planning and emergency preparedness.
