Comparison of Winnowing Motions for Soybeans and Amaranth Seeds Using Omogishi Mi

Abstract

This study aimed to acquire motion data using motion capture during the winnowing of soybeans and amaranth seeds using different sizes of “Omogishi Mi” (winnowing basket) and attempted to analyze the motions. Observation of stick figures from the acquired motion data of the winnowing performer and analysis of marker displacement in the vertical (Z-axis) direction clarified the motions’ characteristics. Furthermore, the results suggested the possibility of usage variations depending on the basket size and contents.
