Abstract

This paper aims to implement the usage of 3D technology in efforts to share cultural properties and assets at regional museums. The methods that were involved in this paper were (1) Organizing Joint Coloring Workshops in the Museum with the Staff of Ichihara Museum of History, (2) Exhibiting latent cultural properties, and (3) Offering a 3D Scanning Workshop. The purpose of this paper is to report on this initiative and to establish its effectiveness. As a result, The involvement of staff in the series of workshop preparations encourages active participation that contributes to establishing a system for sustaining cultural assets through the utilization of 3D data. Furthermore, This workshop provides further opportunities for participants to explore local issues and devise strategies to preserve and foster regional cultural assets.
