Abstract
In this study, we compared and verified parking space information signs installed at the entrance to service areas on expressways. We used a driving simulator to verify instantaneous recognition. As a result, the most highly evaluated signs were those with a design that emphasized vehicle pictograms and a sign layout that moved the distance between large and small signs away from each other. Possible reasons for this are that the pictograms are easy to recognize and the time to recognize the signs is appropriate.
