Abstract

This study aims to reduce plastic use in indoor spaces by replacing plastic materials with natural alternatives and clarifying the properties of recycled threads such as kibiso and wood thread. The results showed that kibiso has high tensile strength, while wood thread has low tensile strength but high rigidity. Bamboo thread demonstrated good breathability, garabo(throstle-spun) thread exhibited high light-blocking properties, and paper thread was found to be weak in both tensile strength and abrasion resistance. In the future, the study will examine the properties of different types of recycled threads when they are twisted together and explore their applications in interior materials and furniture.
