Research on a new haiku appreciation experience using animation

Abstract

In recent years, opportunities for Japanese youth to experience haiku, the traditional poetry of their country, have been decreasing. One reason for this may be the increase in video distribution services and comic book applications due to the widespread use of the Internet. Because these forms of entertainment are very rich in visual information, the written form of haiku is often at a disadvantage. Therefore, we created a work that would provide an opportunity for young people to become interested in haiku by adding animation to existing haiku.
