The author began a farming practice on campus to explore why nurturing activities evoke excitement. Through personal engagement, they observed changes not only between themselves and the nurtured subjects, but also in relationships with others sharing the space. They hypothesized that such changes arise from first-person affection spreading to others and from creatively reimagining overlooked spaces. This paper presents two projects that examine whether these affection-based relationships can also be fostered within broader social contexts.
