Exploring the impact of new local communities and community revitalization on dementia prevention through participants' narratives

A clear public relations strategy to raise awareness of nursing care prevention initiatives

Abstract

This article reports the author's support activities for Shizuoka City's dementia prevention project, "Shizuoka Chacha." The authors covered participants aged 65 or older to explore the background and motivation of their participation. As a result, the changes and values of social life from the Showa era to the present were revealed, and the participants' physical strength, curiosity, and willingness to participate in the community were highlighted. In addition, factors that separate the interested and indifferent groups in preventive activities have also emerged.
