Abstract

This study examines the form of khaden, a traditional textile in the Gyantse region of the Tibet Autonomous Region. Based on observations and interviews, it analyzes its shape, materials, patterns, and color. The results show that its shape corresponds to bodily scale and everyday practices, its materials reflect local resources and subsistence systems, and its patterns and color express religious symbolism, coexist across different contexts, and are reinterpreted from external influences. These findings indicate that khaden materializes local life and culture.
