Designing for Facilitator Transfer in Tangible Learning Systems: A Case Study of TangiBuild

Abstract

This paper investigates how tangible learning systems can support the transfer of facilitation from researchers to teachers in school-based after-school settings. We present TangiBuild, a construction system with embedded real-time visual feedback. Through deployments in two elementary schools, including structured and free-play activities, we observed that teachers increasingly relied on system cues to guide learners and manage interactions, enabling more independent, teacher-led facilitation.
