Abstract

The purpose of this research is find out of the fundamental functions of communication aids for the hearing impaired. On the design of communication aids, it have to consider many factors of situations i,e. distance, recognition, attribute of persons,number of persons, contents, direction, place of communication. The fundamental functions became clear by examination of these factors. Necessity of these functions are as a follows; (1) Word processing. (2) Voice synthesis. (3) Transforming specific sounds into lights or vibration. (4) Two-way telecommunication by letters. (5) Connection to popular telecommunication instruments. (6) Portability. (7) Using visual communication with auditory.
