Abstract

With the era of uncertainty, it is becoming necessary to present speculative future visions to encourage discussions on how to renew complex social systems. In this research, the components and the structure of the visions were considered through two projects of the vision creation. In the first project, the conventional service design process was applied, and a scenario from the viewpoint of the consumer was created after studying the trend of the target business area. However, the discussions were headed to a solution and it was difficult to develop into a high-level discussion of new social issues. In the second project, it was changed to focus on showing the direction of change in values of consumers throughout the vision. A consistent attitude was set for the discussion, and the components of the future vision and its structure were improved so that future scenarios will convey concrete problems of the consumer's perspective in the society. As a result, it became possible to discuss the ideal way of a new social system based on the future society's issues and people's opinions on consumers' problems in the society.
