Abstract
It was written with "The elementary school building with waiting room and the over 2-floor elementary school building is mainly located in the snowy region" in the literature. And the elementary school building that it put pupil waiting room at first floor and placed the classroom over the second floor existing in the snowy region was reported. So by examining the drawings of the elementary school building that had put in archives of the Tohoku District in the Meiji period, next fact was proven. It was observed that the installation rate of the elementary school building with pupil waiting room and over 2-floor school building increased in proportion to the snow cover. It was clarified that the elementary school building that it put pupil waiting room at first floor and placed the classroom over the second floor was the school building that was peculiar in the snowy region of the Japan Sea side.
