Abstract
IAC curriculum consists of several modules, the module entitled "Energy and Environment Chemistry" was chosen as an illustration of the IAC approach, because it contains a lot of pictures and cartoons so that students might be stimulated to study chemistry. The essential features of this module are that it considers the relationships between the natural sciences and technology and the difficulties appearing in modern society. The module was analysed in terms of: (1) contents; (2) scientific concepts; (3) experiments; (4) attitudes. In the Revised Edition of the Course of Study, which will be effective in 1994, five subjects in the Science Course deal with energy and the environment. The IAC module might be used to design an environmental curriculum as described in the Revised Edition of the Course of Study.
