Abstract
The paper recapitulates briefly the first 20 years of gifted education in Singapore from 1984 to 2004. In particular, we highlight two new initiatives since 2001, namely, affective education (inculcating social responsibility) and integrated programme (expanding the programme to a larger population). The integrated programme is known locally as the through-train programme since students in the programme miss the secondary school leaving examination.
