Abstract

The paper clarified the entity responsible for establishing of professional colleges.

Although the characteristics of professional training colleges are often characterized by diversity and professional development, there has been little discussion regarding the entities responsible for these characteristics.

In this paper, the classification of the entities establishing professional training colleges is based on the Basic School Survey and the list of professional training colleges, and the analysis is conducted on the relationship between each entity and its field of establishment.

As a result, the characteristic feature of establishment entities other than educational corporations is the establishment of fields related to professional associations. In addition, public professional training colleges are limited to agriculture and medical care fields.

School corporations were also divided into two types: nationwide school corporations that operate the same type of schools nationwide and local school corporations that operate schools in multiple fields, mainly within the same prefecture.
