Abstract

Recently, electric vehicles(EVs) have been introduced, and the charging and discharging control of EVs by using technologies such as V2G (Vehicle-to-Grid) has been considered to avoid the concentration of charging demand of EVs. In this study, the effect of charging and discharging control of EVs in the city-level when EVs are spread was investigated. Specifically, the effect of load leveling of electric power system and reduction of total electric cost and CO2 reduction by charging and discharging control which minimize the total electric cost was investigated by comparison of several scenarios in Tsukuba city, Ibaraki prefecture. As a results, charging and discharging control of EVs has an effect on load leveling of electric power system, total electric cost and reduction of CO2 emission. On the other hand, even high carbon tax has imposed, the effect on CO2 reduction by charging and discharging control of EVs which minimizes total electric cost was limited.
