Abstract
I introduced outstanding studies, described in English and published in 2010, regarding t-PA thrombolysis for acute ischemic stroke. I quoted three articles investigating eligibility of the t-PA thrombolysis in the elderly and in the young. We compared two articles, one of which did not support t-PA thrombolysis for acute stroke during warfarin therapy and the other one did support it. We will need to study t-PA thrombolysis for stroke patients treated with dabigatran and other newly developed oral angicoagulants. I introduced a paper indicating that recurrent stroke during or just after the t-PA thrombolysis was associated with atrial fibrillation which meant t-PA thrombolysis promoted intracardiac thrombus detaching from the cardiac wall as well as thrombolytic therapy with urokinase. I also quoted J-MARS and J-ACT II which were conducted as a post marketing survey in Japan, and a study from the SAMURAI rt-PA registry, t-PA registration study in Japan.
