Abstract
Reference values for pulmonary flow variables were measured by intraesophageal echocardiography in 28 clinically healthy female dogs (BW 10.60±2.38 kg) under the general anesthesia. As the result, peak flow velocity (PFV), acceleration time (AT), ejection time (ET) and pre-ejection phase (PEP) were 72.4±12.83 cm/sec, 33.4±6.10 m, 0.10±0.067 sec, 0.20±0.036 sec and 0.10±0.013 sec, respectively. When the sampling volume was set on the outside of the pulmonary artery, significant decrease in PFV was recorded. However, other parameters were similar among sampling volumes. Body weight did not affect these parameters.
