A new fiber transfer model is presented under the assumption that the fiber transfer phenomenon is due to the combination of fiber gripping and fiber distributing. It also includes a geometrical definition of fiber gripping to predict the Kv; -P/Ps; relation.
This new model is explained theoretically and experimentally. Then the fact that the collecting power is decreased by putting a small roller in the carding zone is evaluated quantitatively.
