Public communication programs for the refuse collection service in Alexandria, Egypt, were developed and implemented in a refuse collection experiment conducted in the summer of 1985. These programs were evaluated in terms of their technical, financial and organizational feasibilities. Results indicated that the public communication programs developed were technically and financially feasible although regional and religious meetings appeared to be not as effective as expected. The major problem was found to be that no organization responsible for public communication existed in the Alexandria government. It is thus strongly recommended that such an organization be established.
