Abstract
This research clarified the fact how residents of the prefabricated-temporary houses built after the 1963 Skopje Earthquake have modified their housing units during this 50 years after the construction in accordance with their family situation, sequence of lifestages and the local climate feature in Skopje, through documental survey and interviews to residents.Through field survey, we observed drastic change of floor plan with enlargement of floor space, or installation of sun shades or flying roofs in order to regulate sun shine, but on the other hand found the residents state their being satisfied by the living in the so-called prefab-barracks and highly evaluate quality of the prefab-barracks.
