Abstract
This study investigates on the applying feasibility of Jacobs urban theory to the living amenity of common Japanese urban area in respect of its robustness. As results, as for the spatial robustness it is also applicable to the bigness and suburbs, and as for temporal robustness it is steadily succeeded by a huge variety of activity groups. Moreover her way of thinking of “innovation” is revealed and seems to be sympathized with the SETC activity in Boston. Thorough the correspondence with a researcher of religion, her theory is considered to be a criticism to the modern urban planning in respect of “time”.
