Abstract
Akasaka Palace was originally constructed as the Crown Prince’s Palace in 1909. This study aims to clarify the actual processes of creating the interior decoration and furniture. There are 3 main findings. 1)Artistic textiles made for the building are considered based on the decorative plan and its function. 2)Interior design and furniture were mostly allocated to Japanese artisans while the ceiling paintings were made in France. 3)Décor and the usage of the building before World WarⅡ.
