Abstract
Canonical discriminate analysis was applied to assessment of lactation stages with the standard data of metabolic profile test in Nagano Prefecture. The canonical discriminate coefficients for standard were calculated with 7 biochemical measurements from 176 dairy cow samples in 3 lactation stages. A theoretical accuracy of the coefficients was 81.25%. Similarly, shores induced from the coefficients were calculated with data of 215 dairy cows in 12 herds for field application. As results of comparison between standard and field application scores, improvement dairy herds were lower than other herds in error rate of the canonical discriminate analysis.
