Abstract
Fresh rectal feces was examined in 208 cattle over a period from 1964 to 1970. Buxtonella sulcata JAMESON, 1926 was found in 64% of the cattle examined, but Balantidium in no cattle. In that species of Ciliata, the cytosome existed in the ventro- posterior portion of the body.
A curved groove ran from the cytostome to the anterior end of the body. The cytopyge was found to be dorsal to the cytostome at the posterior end.
