A syringe with no needle was used for inoculation with hog cholera live vaccine. In a basic experiment, India ink was injected successfully by this syringe into subcutaneous tissue or muscle at the root of the ear or in the medial portion of the thigh. In an experiment with viral material, there was no difference in production or change in neutralizing antiobody minimum infective dose, or the time of establishment of prevention against infection between the needleless syringe and the conventional one with a needle. There was no difference either between the two types of syringes in the results of field trials.
