Abstract
Hematological biochemical tests were conducted on 18 cows affected with fatty necrosis and 12 control cows. As a result, the erythrocyte or leukocyte count or the differential leukocyte count underwent no changes. Hemoglobin and hematocrit were significantly larger in value in the necrotic cows than in the controls. GOT was higher and AL-P lower in the former. The amounts of serum urea nitrogen and blood sugar were significantly smaller in the necrotic cows. Triglyceride was signiflcantly lower in level and free fatty acid higher in these cows. Stearic and linoleic acid were lower and palmitic and oleic acid higher in the necrotic cows than in the controls.
