Abstract
Studies were made to detect antibody against infectious bovine rhinotracheitis (IBR) virus by the enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). As a result, there was a marked correlation (r=0.90) between ELISA antibody and neutralizing antibody. ELISA and the method of neutralizing antibody (NA) estimation showed a rate of agreement on results obtained of 99.7%, confidence limits of 95%, PU of 100, and PL of 99.2.
Even serum of low NA titer presented essentially the same results in ELISA as in the method of NA estimation of high sensitivity by using sensitization overnight at 22°C. In conclusion, ELISA made ELISA made it possible to estimate NA against IBR virus rapidly and accurately on many serum samples.
