Correlation between Renal Function and Tubulo-interstitial Lesions in Feline Progressive Kidney Disease

Abstract

We examined spontaneous feline chronic renal failure patients in order to investigate a reliable histological marker for renal function. We found significant correlation between serum creatinine (sCr) concentration and both extent of tubular injury and interstitial fibronectin deposition. There was no significant correlation, however, between sCr concentration and either extent of glomerular sclerosis or glomerular fibronectin deposition.
