A successful crystallization of glycogen phosphorylase b from skeletal muscles of rats was carried out, while an attempt to crystallize this enzyme from skeletal and heart muscles of dogs failed. Examination of the purified crystal and enzyme fluid by disc electrophoresis did not show the existence of isozymes between skeletal and heart muscles in either species.
