Abstract
T lymphocytes bearing receptors for IgG (Tγ cells) were isolated from bovine peripheral blood lymphocytes (PBL) by the two serial methods of sheep erythrocyte(E)-rosette sedimentation and bovine erythrocyte-antibody-rosette sedimentation. Tγ cells were cocultured with bovine non-E-rosette forming lymphocytes or PBL in the presence of pokeweed mitogen for 5 days at 37°C. Plaque forming cells (PFC) in these cultures were determined by the reverse hemolytic plaque assay. Bovine Tγcells were confirmed to provide the suppressive effect on the development of PFC response.
