The Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics are highly expected as opportunities to promote barrier-free efforts toward the realization of a symbiotic society. However, there is still room to improve facilities for persons with disabilities.
For example, braille blocks for the visually impaired are used virtually everywhere in Japan. The index for guidance is represented by a point or a straight line. The point index is for caution, and the linear index indicates the direction. In recent years, relocatable braille blocks have been provided, and it is becoming possible to guide routes for persons with disabilities flexibly, although there are not many studies on braille blocks for indoor use.
This paper describes support for laying guidance blocks for the visually impaired using ICT.
