White-light speckle photography has been applied to the measurement of flow velocity distributions in the open channel. The surface flow seeded with aluminium oxide particles is photographed with two pulsed illuminations of a white-light. A double-exposure specklegram is optically processed with spatial filtering technique. When white-light illuminations are also used in reconstruction, colored whole-field equi-velocity contours are drawn and quantitative informations about velocity fields are obtained by using color scale.
