Abstract
Performance of a vortex pump is improved by theoretical and experimental method. Theoretical method is. not established well in general, therefore experimental method can be chosen. Then it is necessary to observe the flow in vortex pump. This paper presents the flow visualization in vortex pump by oil film method and discussions of the relation between oil flow patterns and pump performance under the following conditions,
(1) shapes and sizes of the casing are constant,
(2) number of vanes are 20, 40 and 60,
(3) rotating speeds are 1000, 14150 and 2000 rpm.
