Applicability of the white-light speckle method CWLSM) for fluid measurement has been investigated on various flow fields. As the results, some superior features of this method has been confirmed, but it is necessary to continue investigation on some practical problems. The selections of optimum scattering particles and films are most important things to get a good speckle gram.
In the present paper, the WLSM is applied to the measurement of velocity distributions of an oscillatory flow in a peristaltic pump of zero-mean-flow state, and the follow-up characteristics of tracer particles to the flow and the clarification of Young's fringes are discussed.
