In this study, the relative flow patterns of a centrifugal blower impeller were visualized by the spark tracing method. The stationary image of flow patterns in the rotating impeller was observed using the rotating image stopping processor in which a triangular prism rotated at half the angular velocity of impeller.
The flow in a impeller was observed in detail by the line and needle type electrodes. Further, the distributions of time lines on the meridiam plane can be visualized using the sheet type electrodes.
