Giant MFI zeolite crystals with the size of ca. 3 mm were synthesized from a piece of quartz glass tube as the entire silica source under aqueous hydrothermal conditions. The similar procedures were successful in synthesizing large crystals of some frameworks, such as ANA, JBW, CAN and SOD.
