Abstract
Light interacting with nanostructured metals excites collective charge density fluctuations known as surface plasmons. By combining interferometric time-resolved two-photon photoemission and photoemission electron microscopy, we demonstrate imaging of surface plasmon dynamics with 60 nm spatial resolution and 0.33 fs frame interval. 10 fs phase-correlated pump-probe light pulses at 400 nm couple to localized and/or propagating surface plasmon modes in structured silver films that mediate nonlinear tow-photon photoemission from the samples.
