Like inorganic semiconductor electronic devices, the functionality of organic devices are dominated by the interface. While the transport properties of organic materials depend on relative position/angle of neighboring molecules, experimental examination of surface relaxation of organic semiconductors has been sparse. We have studied surface structure relaxation of various organic semiconductor crystals, and found that the effect of the surface on organic semiconductors is limited to one molecular layer. Recently performed structure analysis of paint-made crystalline monolayer and double layer will be also presented.
