Abstract

We developed sub-cycle MIR pulses by using near-infrared pulses delivered by ultra-short pulse laser (wavelength 800nm, duration<10fs, repetition 4MHz, energy 1uj). This can improve temporal resolution of scanning tunneling microscope and observe tunneling current in ultrafast time regime to study electron phonon interaction which was difficult to observe until now.
