Abstract

When twisting stress is repeatedly applied to a ferromagnetic wire, the composite magnetic layers with different coercive forces formed. By changing the direction of magnetization on the outer periphery part of the ferromagnetic wire, it is possible to generate an output pulse voltage even at an extremely low frequency. This is because the magnetization of the soft layer is reversed all at once by the large Barkhausen jump. If the half bandwidth of this output pulse voltage can be expanded to 50 µs or more, the magnetic wire may be applied to sensors without a power supply. The purpose of this study is to widen the half bandwidth of the output pulse voltage by changing the conditions of twisting the ferromagnetic wire and tension.
