Abstract
The existing power calculation method, based ontwo-dimensional wind and two-dimensional powercurves, is commonly used. However, it tend toover-estimates power generation in complex terrains, where theree-dimensional wind is dominant. So as toimprove the calculation accuracy in complex terrains, a new three-dimensional method is derived andproposed in this study.
It was validated through a field test. Furthermore, simulation on a typical wind farm in complex terranshows that the present proposal method provides6%less AEP than the existing method.
The new method is expected to contribute toimprove the power estimation accuracy in complexterrains.
