Extension of gap tolerance in square butt joint of thin steel sheet with laser welding

Abstract

Extension of gap tolerance in square butt joint of thin steel sheet having different thickness and tensile strength with YAG laser welding was investigated. As a result it is found that extension of gap tolerance can be achieved by tilting the laser beam to thick sheet direction.
