Abstract
The grain boundary engineering, which attracts much attention as a new method for improving material performance, was applied to austenitic stainless steels. The resulting steels indicated a very low connectivity of corrosion-prone boundary networks and a high corrosion resistance during ferric sulfate-sulfuric acid test.
