Abstract
In the weld joint of the existing structure, a lot of weld joints by the partial penetration exist although the full-penetration welds should be.
Then, the penetration size to ensure the base metal strength was found and the repairing parts and the heat input of the repair welding would be reduced.
From the tensile test results of cross-joint welds, it was found that the strength of the weld joints had the enough strength equivalent to the base metal, when the penetration was one fourth of the thickness of the base metal.
