Abstract
The application of Plasma-MIG hybrid welding process to the welding of copper was studied. It was confirmed that the balance between Plasma current and MIG current was effect on the arc stability by bead on test. And, the optimum welding conditions were selected for the welding of copper with copper filler wire. As a basis of test results, the fillet welding of the dissimilar materials between copper and carbon steel tried to be applied by Plasma –MIG hybrid process. Consequently, it was confirmed that both the preheat effect of plasma heat and high deposition rate of MIG effectively acted on the weldability the dissimilar materials which have the different thermal conductivity.
