Solidification structure of martensitic stainless steel weld metal

Abstract

Martensitic weld metal have problem of hot cracking. It is thought that hot cracking can be prevented by existing of ferrite phase during the welding solidification. The relation of solidification mode and hot cracking sensitivity was evaluated by using TRXRD and Trans-varestraint test.
