Frameworks for career education in primary and secondary education

Potential uses in teacher training courses

Abstract

This study examines recent policy trends and research on education and human resource development and proposes two frameworks for career education in primary and secondary education. The first framework classi-fies career education into two categories; activities that nurture key competencies and activities for high school subjects (the Two-lined Structure). The second framework comprises abilities and competencies related to career education and human resource development. I have discussed the potential uses of these frameworks in teacher training courses.
